The Australian Research Data Commons
Website Redesign & Brand Evolution
- Publication Design
- Website Maintenance
- Digital Content Updates
- Marketing Collateral Design
- Brand Refinement
The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) aimed to improve website layouts and accessibility for its academic audience. This evolved into a broader project, including
brand evolution and new marketing collateral.
Key objectives were to enhance website layout to meet accessibility standards (AA, aiming for AAA), evolve the ARDC brand, redesign sub-brands, and create a Case Study Book showcasing ARDC’s impact.
I utilised ARDC’s colourful logo letters to create dynamic designs. Actions included:
- Updating the website with a new menu and refined content for better readability.
- Conducting colour analysis for accessibility compliance.
- Adding ‘Attribution Guidelines’ to brand guidelines for co-branding.
- Redesigning sub-brands, keeping key historical elements like the Nectar logo.
- Designing a marketing brochure with an infographic style influencing future designs.
The result was improved website accessibility and user experience, a stronger brand identity, and a flagship Case Study Book that showcased ARDC’s role in advancing research and innovation.
I engaged Taso to update the Australian Research Data Commons' website using our existing brand guidelines. I also wanted him to see how we can extend the current brand guidelines to improve the website's look. He did a great job in introducing a new menu structure and improved accessibility levels on the website. Nothing was too small or big for Taso to tackle, and it was so easy to work with him. Thank you very much to Taso!
